10 Most Useful Blogging Communities To Help Promote Your Blog

On the many paths to blogging promotion one avenue some bloggers seem to overlook are blogging communities. Just like social media, these type of sites offer a chance to share your ideas and posts with others and meet like-minded people. Not only that they're all dedicated to one thing, blogging.

Blogging communities are not to be confused with blogging directories, although some of the better directories do have a community aspect such as Blog Catalog and Blogged which is a good mix of all of it.

Most directories offer no chance to communicate and share with the other bloggers in directory, where communities have all kinds of features that promote networking. Which essentially is one very best things you can accomplish while blogging, making blogging friends.

It's never better to go it alone, just imagine if you as a new blogger could get in touch with someone who could really help you out? Blogging communities give you that chance to make new connections with other people in your niche.

Hey John! Thanks for commenting definitely didn't expect to see any of the site owners stop by an comment. :) I really think Blogger Luv deserves to be up there, I've seen other bloggers say many good things about it and had nothing but good to say about it. When I checked it out I was very impressed, you've got the foundation of a real community going on there, filled with great users. It doesn't take that long on the visit to see that. Not only that I was very impressed it was made on Wordpress, you rock man! I appreciate the links back to this post big time and your kind words as well.

I saw John giving you a shout out yesterday but at the same time I was working on a project so I made a promise to myself to come and visit your site today. I a huge fan of BloggerLuv and Blog Engage too. And everyone knows that anything Hesham touches turns to gold so I've been a member of MMOSocialNetwork since day one!

I have a Squidoo lens in the works and I find the interface a little annoying (maybe that's because I find Seth Godin a little annoying but that's another story). LOL!

There is another site called Bloggers dot com that you might like too.

Thanks for the other resources, some are new to me and others I use already.

btw - I added you to my BloggerLuv twitter list and now I'll add you to my BlogEngage list too.

Hi Aaron, nice to meet you! I love BloggerLuv and I'm "stalking" Ms. Ileane through just about everything SHE touches! I'll be sure to keep checking this post for updates.

It's fun discovering where folks hang out. I'm from a really old blogging community that was online from the end of 2005 to somewhere around 2007. It was called WritingUp and it defined the standard by which I measure all blogging communities.

Cheers,

Mitch

@Ms. Ileane - Thanks for stopping by and commenting, I think you hit the nail on the head with Squidoo, some people swear by it though.

@Mitch - Thanks for coming over as well! Just goes to show how awesome BloggerLuv is, it has it's own stalkers and everything! I'm gonna have to check out your recommendation, thanks a bunch!

Hi Aaron,
Thanks for the info. I was thinking about the process of social media. I've got "OnlyWire". However, not quite what I need. What you have supplied here is what the doctor ordered. Thanks. If you get a chance, come see me.

Hi Jeff,
I appreciate your comments and I'm glad you found this post useful! I checked out your blog and it's great, love the name too. You have tons of great information on there as well.

I tried OnlyWire and found it to be "barely functional" hehe.

Hope we can chat again soon!

I'm relatively new to blogging, and I've only just discovered blogengage, so hoping I can find the time to fit it all in! This post was informative for me, and I'm now on my way over to Bloger Luv to check that out too.

I'm sure you'll be hearing from many more of us who use BloggerLuv and are very active in Social Media and blogging. BloggerLuv is where bloggers go to relax and connect - we often say it is like the TV show Cheers "Where everyone knows your name".

While not the kind of community you're writing about here, CommentLuv is a plugin for WordPress and some other blogging platforms that creates community. Many of us who are active on BloggerLuv know each other because of CommentLuv. I rarely comment in blogs that don't offer it and really miss it when it isn't offered. That link explains what it is and why I recommend it.

Bloggers who have a serious calling will want to get listed on Technorati as it is used by many to find the most influential blogs. It isn't the most user-friendly site but it is getting better in that regard.

A great post for Bloggers and thank you. To see someone like Gail Gardener (above) stop and add some comments is good for you and says something about your approach and quality. (Hi Gail!) I've been Blogging for a while now and find that Facebook groups can be a big help too! The Blogging Mastermind Comment Tribe http://on.fb.me/i82zhD and also Wordpress for business http://on.fb.me/erMcV2 These are closed groups to keep out spammers & time wasters but mention my name & they'll let you join. It's great to be part of a community that can help with technical issues and content issues etc and if we support each other at the same time, it's a win, win situation. Thank you very much!
